Wilhelmina C.E. van Dijk

With heavy hearts, we announce that our Mom, Wilhelmina C. E. van Dijk, beloved wife of the late Willem van Dijk, of Calgary, Alberta passed away.

Wilhelmina was born on November 14, 1936 in Den Haag, the Netherlands, where she grew up with her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Affectionately known as Willy, she often shared fond memories of her childhood in Holland-family trips to Scheveningen, school days, close friendships, swim club adventures, and also the difficult times during the war.

In 1960, Willy met a young man named Willem van Dijk and made the brave decision to follow him to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. There, they built a life together, marrying and raising two children: Joyce and William.

Willy is lovingly remembered by her children, Joyce (Darryl) and William, and her two granddaughters, Jocelyn (Brandon) and Tanya. She was also blessed to hold her great-granddaughter. A moment her family will always treasure.
