Wendy Shields passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the age of 56 years. She will be lovingly rememberd by her separated husband Rick Shields; children, Selina Shields, TJ (Melissa) Shields and Trevor Shields (Allyse) and many others that called her Mom; grandchildren, Brandon, Shadea, Connor, Brooke, Tanner, Chelsea, Taleah and many others that called her Nana; mother Margaret “Peggy” Lowten; sisters Nancy Lowten and Cathy Lowten; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Herbert Lowten and brother Thomas Lowten. Wendy was born and raised in Montreal. When she was 12, the family moved to Calgary which has been her home ever since. Wendy worked for Handi Bus and then For Access Calgary where she was a passenger Agent. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Her kids will always remember the summers spent at Pine Lake, where they have many fond memories together. A Visitation will be held for Wendy at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel, 4121 17 Avenue SE, on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made to either the Diabetes Association, G124, 2204 2 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2S 3C2, or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0G5.
