Wayne Paquette

August 31, 1950 — June 7, 2022

Wayne Roland Paquette, Father, Grandfather, Fire Fighter, Fisherman, Mr. Fix It and RV’er, died at his home in Chestermere AB on June 7, 2022 at the age of 71.

Wayne was born to Roland and Peggy Paquette in Calgary on August 31, 1950.

Wayne met Leslee (deceased) in 1972 and were married on November 4, 1972 making their home in Chestermere. Working together they built their own home, raised children, and were involved in the community. Wayne became the first Fire Chief in Chestermere and then went on to owned his own business. Later in life Wayne and Leslee did what they always wanted to do, purchase an RV and divide their time between family and travelling.

When he wasn’t working Wayne was known for being incredibly helpful, always willing to “take a look at it”, see what he could do. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, petting the dogs and barbequing. To unwind at the end of the day, Wayne enjoyed watching YouTube video’s on RVing and forwarding too many emails.

Wayne is survived by his sisters Donna and Claudia; children Amy, Brent, Andrea and his granddaughter Madison, along with all his extended family, some best friends, and coworkers he touched during his life, who loved him dearly. Wayne was predecease by his sister Doreen.

Those who knew Wayne knew he would not have wanted a memorial service, but to be remembered as the guy sitting in the lawn chair, brimmed hat on with the tie dangling around his chin, a cold drink in his hand and a smile on his face.
