Wayne Douglas Russell

RUSSELL, Wayne Douglas April 12, 1946 May 27, 2013 Wayne Douglas Russell, aged 67 years, passed from death unto life on May 27, 2013 at the Sarcee Hospice. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Lynn, and loving children Douglas, Sandra (James) Ullyott and Steven (Susan) as well as by his beloved grandchildren, Alyssa, Sydney and Claire. Wayne is also survived by his sister Betty Loudoun and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Mabel Russell. Wayne was born in Drumheller on April 12, 1946. As an eight-month old, he travelled to Ethiopia with his parents where his father worked for three years. Following this, Wayne returned to Calgary where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a BComm with distinction followed by a CA designation. Since the early ’80s, Wayne loved working with people to set up their new businesses. Throughout his battle with cancer, he remained positive and maintained his quick wit and keen sense of humour. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Glenmore Temple (921 68 Avenue SW) on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tom Baker Cancer Center, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1331 29 Street NW, Calgary AB, T2N 4N2, would be very much appreciated by the family.
