Wanda Mae Joseph

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Wanda Mae Joseph, who left us far too soon on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. Wanda was born on Tuesday, December 13, 1960, in Saskatchewan. She spent her childhood growing up in Cranbrook, British Columbia, before eventually moving across various towns throughout British Columbia and Alberta, where she built a life rich in memories, family, and laughter.

Wanda was known for her love of collecting knick-knacks, always filling her home with what she considered the best décor. As well as she’s always had a love for animals, especially cats and little dogs. This was a constant in her life. Wanda had an unforgettable sense of humor and often had to laugh at the jokes her children told (even the crude ones). Whether it was the radio playing or one of her favourite CDs (usually starting with Madonna), there was always music in her car and in her life.

Family meant everything to Wanda. She was endlessly proud of her large and loving family and never missed a chance to talk about them. With five children, one stepson, seventeen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, Wanda often had a story to tell. We believe she liked to see the shock cross others faces when they found out how many kids and grandkids Wanda had, and how young she was, having been a grandma since she was 34.

Wanda leaves behind not just a large family, but also many close friends who were touched by her warmth, wit, and wisdom. Wanda had a way of teaching people, whether it was a clever trick, a life lesson, or a cooking hack. Those memories will live on in the people who knew and loved her. Wanda's absence is felt deeply, but her spirit and the joy she brought to our lives will be remembered forever and always.

Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her children Shaun McCrory and Lynn, Jerry McCrory and Vanessa, Tanya McCrory and Brodie, Shannon Joseph, Aaron Joseph and Harleen, all of Calgary, Jonathon Joseph of Cranbrook, British Columbia; her grandchildren Jerome, Christine, Jayme, Nikita, Jodie, Brenden, Dominick, Jaiden, Kaylee, Willow, Isaha, Samantha, Cole, Danicka, Wyatt, Jessica, Aurelia; great-grandchildren Cohen, Linkin, Carter, Dexter, Jordyn, Ivy, Avery, Olivia; her mother Eileen Kopp; and sibling Krista Knull and Rob of Regina, Saskatchewan.

Wanda was predeceased by her husband Chuck Joseph and her father Bill Brawn.

Cremation will take place at Foothills Crematorium.
