Walter Eugene Podworny

We are saddened to share the news of Walter Eugene Podworny’s unexpected passing on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in his 71st year. 

Walt is survived by his son Nathan (Nerissa), and his two beloved grandchildren, Naomi and Niko, who made their home together in Calgary. Walt sadly lost his son Troy on December 1, 2020. We know they are together now. 

The third child of six siblings, Walt is also survived by his siblings Wanda, Mike (Lynne), Lily (Dave), Lydia (Mike), Nancy (Thierry); and he was Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Walt will be remembered by all.

A welder by trade, in the late 70’s, Walt picked up his life in Ontario and moved to Alberta to carve his own path.

Walt built his life and family in Alberta, but always remembered his family and friends in Ontario. He never forgot to send flowers to his mom on Mother’s Day. We take comfort in knowing he is together now with Troy, Mama and Tato in heaven. We miss you. 

There will be a celebration of life, date to be determined.
