Violet Ruth Bauer, born on March 15, 1955, in Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. A vibrant soul, Violet was raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, until she completed her high school education where she made her return to Calgary, 

Violet had a passion for socializing, often spending evenings at local bars with her daughter, where over many laughs, they forged friendships with both new acquaintances and old companions alike. Known affectionately as a mom or  "Mama" by many children in her community, she possessed an unwavering nurturing spirit that expanded beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many.

Her love for nature led her to the Gamache Family Farm, a special place where she learned to fish. Throughout her life, Violet pursued various careers, demonstrating her remarkable work ethic and dedication until her well-deserved retirement.

Violet found joy in many hobbies, including crocheting, camping, and playing cards. She had a special fondness for traveling, as well as a deep love for animals and country music. Those moments spent with her granddaughter, taking her to school, were cherished highlights in her life, where she drew immense happiness from their time together.

Violet leaves behind her loving daughter, Tasha Bauer, and her son, Johnathan Bauer (Cynthia) Also her sister Fay Betts (Tim). She was a proud grandmother to Jordyn, Owen, and Shane, and a beloved aunt to her niece, Cody Goulding (Jordan), as well as to her great nieces, Naya, Dykota, and Jessandra. She held dear the close friendships of Karen Gamache and Pat and Dave Clegg, who were a significant part of her life.

Violet is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Rudy Bauer, and her sister Yvonne Quebec, along with her nephew Zoltan Larter and nephew Kevin Quebec. She is also preceded by close family friends Monica, Ken, and Jessie Gamache.

Family and friends would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the South Health Campus for their impeccable care of Violet during her final days. Her legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories will forever be held in the hearts of all who knew her.
