Viola May Cotterhill

Viola May Cotterhill, born on May 6, 1937, in Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at the South Health Campus in Calgary. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom, who also held several short-term jobs throughout her life, showcasing her hardworking spirit and dedication to her family.

Viola was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Cotterhill and the cherished mother of four: Albert (Cheryl) Cotterhill, Kellie Cotterhill, Lora Mitchell, and Randy Cotterhill. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Amber, Travis, Tyler, and Quinn, along with several great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Les.

An exceptionally crafty individual, Viola found joy in creating beautiful things. She was known for her skill in sewing stuffed animals, making dolls, and painting plaques, which not only showcased her artistic talent but also reflected her loving and creative spirit. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2025 at Pierson's Funeral Services (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary) at 2:00pm.  Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember the wonderful life of Viola May Cotterhill. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
