Zulmira Vicente passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Eduardo Vicente; sons Eduardo (Diane) Vicente Jr. and Carlos Vicente (Terri O’Neill); grandchildren Sussane, James, Terry, Jenniffer, Jaclyn, Stephanie and Talia; great grandchildren Deegan, Jaden, Jacob, Melik, Jasmine, Judah and Dominic; numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and Portugal; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her son John, parents and both her brother and sister. Zulmira was born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She met the love of her life Eduardo and they were married and started their family there as well. In 1960 they emigrated to Canada where Calgary has been their home ever since. Zulmira loved her family most of all. She loved having them over to her home and they will always remember her wonderful cooking for those gatherings. Her family will always remember her as a kind, warm, loving and all around wonderful mother and grandmother. Prayer Service’s will be held for Zulmira at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4747 30 Street SE, on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same location on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Clauber Lima celebrant. If friends so desire, donations may be made to either the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 1 A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0G5 or the Diabetes Association, G124, 2204 2 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2S 3C2.
