Valentin Badara
March 31, 1995 — December 16, 2021
We regretfully announce the passing away of Valentin Badara on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the age of 26 years old. He peacefully died in his sleep at Peter Lougheed Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Janina Badara; father, Stefan Badara; brothers Sebastian and Ciprian Badara; grandmothers Georgeta Nita and Victoria Badara; aunt Mihaela and uncle, Mihai Varsani; second parents Robert & Dianne Froese; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfathers Radu Nita and Ionel Badara and uncle, Cristian Giurgiu.
Valentin was born in Bucharest, Romania on March 31st, 1995, and when he was a little over 5, the family moved to Canada and made Raymond, AB their home. A short time later they moved to Calgary where Valentin lived most of the time, with the exception of 2 years, from 2016 until mid 2018 when he lived in Lethbridge. Valentin enjoyed drawing and the outdoors; this is where his adventurous spirit was more visible. He loved cars and watches. He had technical abilities and he started a career in HVAC. He was also very private; he didn’t like to complain about his difficulties or to advertise his successes. For the last 2 years of his life, he cared for and enjoyed the daily presence of Cleo, his “therapy cat” – how he put it. He loved God and his family and he was on a journey of rebuilding his life. This is one of his favorite scriptures: Matthew 11: 28-30:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
His family and friends will miss him dearly but we are at peace knowing that his pain is gone and he can now focus on his spiritual development.
A Funeral Service will be held for Valentin at The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints – Panorama Chapel (155 Panamount Blvd NW, Calgary) on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm with viewing starting at 11:30 am, to watch the webcast of the service click on this link:
