On Wednesday, February 7, 2024 Troy Richard Williams, beloved husband of Kimberley Williams (nee Svenson) of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 46 years.
Troy was surrounded by love from his wife Kimberley, daughters Liz and Kathy, and sister Denise holding his hands and singing to him, along with his sister-in-law Allison, brothers-in-law Rob & Shawn and best friend Husain in the room for his last Journey. He also felt the love of his parents Pat & Jerry, sister Sherri and his extended family on Kimberley’s side and all of his nieces and nephews, and his many friends through the years.
Besides his loving wife, Kim, of 17 years, Troy is survived by his daughters Elizabeth and Kathryn, both of Calgary; parents Patricia and Jerald Williams of Meadowbank; sisters Denise and her husband Shawn Buteau and their children Jerica and Matthew all of Calgary, Sherri and her husband Paul Osted and their children Michael & Grace of Fort Resolution, Northwest Territories; parents-in-law Sherry and Walter Svenson of Chesterville, Ontario; as well as siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Alberta, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island. Troy was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Pearl and Vern Williams, and maternal grandparents Irene and Richard May.
Troy was born in Calgary and raised in Black Diamond. He received his education at C Ian McLaren School, Oilfields Junior and Senior High School, and Senator Riley School. Troy worked many years in the security industry at various sites in Calgary and High River. He also delivered newspapers at various locations.
Troy was so proud of his girls, and always loved to talk about them. He loved the outdoors, playing games, going to flea markets and reading. Troy made many friends over the years through his experiences and work. One knew that Troy liked you if he teased you or gave you a hard time. Many friends and family members have memories of Troy that places a smile on their face or make us shake our heads.
Troy fought a tough battle of kidney issues the last 6 years, and he never gave up. He faced several health issues, including a battle with colon cancer that he beat, over the years but he never let it get him down. A phone call from Troy would lighten up the day with his good-natured banter.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the teams at the Foothills Medical Centre, the dialysis team, staff on Ward 37, and the ICU team for their care and compassion to Troy. Thank you so much for everything and the moments you gave to us with Troy.
Troy will be with us in our hearts and memories. He is only gone in body not Spirit. We love him dearly and miss him so much. Good-bye sweet boy, we will all miss our calls and talks with you.
