Trevor Lloyd Lewis
March 14, 1945 — July 30, 2023
Trevor Lewis passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 78 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Dawnette Lewis, Tanya Wilson and Nicole Ahmed; son-in-law Aly Ahmed; grandchildren Leyla Ahmed, Karam Ahmed, Tavia Ross, Locklyn Steel and Kristoff Lewis; god-son Michael Barrett; sister Lorna Silvera; brother Lyval Jackson; nieces, Rosemarie Williams, Jane Brown, Michelle Dordjevic, Tanya Silvera, and Michelle Jackson; nephews, Garfield Campbell, Everton Wilson, Joseph Silvera, Junior Brown, Shane Alexander, Kevin Jackson “Sanchez,” Michael Jackson and Andrae Jackson; Best friends for life Harry Mullings, Eaton Meek, Ronald Barrett and Eugene Debrosse; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John Lewis and Olga Anglin and sister Fay Fowler.
Trevor was born and raised in Jamaica. In 1973 he came to Canada to join his wife Olive Lewis. Although they were divorced, she remained by his side until the end. Trevor was a very kind person and would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. He was very social and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing Dominoes and in the last 2 years he enjoyed dancing every Thursday. Trevor had a hat to match every outfit. He matched his hat with his sharp and tailored outfits, even when he was cutting his friends hair, which was Trevor’s favourite pass time. Trevor also enjoyed listening to Reggae and Country Music in his spare time.
Trevor’s family and friends would like to thank everyone who prayed, sang and laughed with Trevor in his final days. Special thanks to Sister Brown, Barbara, Sister Cox, Rose and of course Olive Lewis. As well as Brother Ewin Clarke and his wife and all other friends and family who visited Trevor at the hospital and supported him throughout the years. Special thanks to Trevors friends at the seniors Home, where he spent 13 years before it is passing. The friends at the seniors home became his second family. Special thanks also to the Bridgeland SDA Church who also supported Trevor and his mother before she passed.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us day by day.
A Funeral Service will be held for Trevor at Bridgeland Seventh-day Adventist Church (48 – 12 Street NE, Calgary) on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 am. Visitation will start at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. For those who are not able to attend the service in person, there will be a livestream. The link to the livestream will be posted closer to the service. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Trevor to Bridgeland Seventh-day Adventist Church (
