Thomas Joseph “Joe” Hickey

Hickey, Thomas Joseph January 19, 1941 – August 13, 2014 Joe, beloved husband of Maudie Hickey passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the age of 73 years. Besides his loving wife, Joe is survived by his daughters Lenore (David) Mitchell and Neily Hickey (Sean Soutar); grandchildren Connor and Brianna Mitchell and Presley Prusak; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Jim Lovegrove. Joe is predeceased by parents Hanora and Patrick Hickey; sisters Mary Kenney and Anna Murphy. Born on Bell Island Nfld, Joe graduated from the 12th grade and then joined the military where he served for 32 years. On retiring from the military Joe worked Security at Nova Corp for 5 years and then the Salvation Army Booth Center for 7 years. Joe greatly enjoyed reading and was an avid amateur ham radio operator. Joe also loved to assist Meal-on-Wheels and helping those in need. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on September 20, 2014 between 1:00 and 3:00pm at 800 Riverbend Dr. S.E.
