Thomas Kenneth Beckley, a proud born and raised Calgarian, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta. Born on April 14, 1963, in Calgary, Thomas spent a lifetime deeply connected to the city that shaped him.
Thomas, best known to those who knew him as Tom, dedicated much of his working life to packing drywall, a profession through which he forged many lifelong friendships and, perhaps unavoidably, ruined countless articles of clothing. His work ethic was marked by sincerity and dedication, and those who worked alongside him fondly remember his steadfast presence and genuine camaraderie.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Thomas’s world revolved around family and friends. He was a devoted husband to Glenda Beckley, to whom he was married for 40 years. His son, Michael Parkin, and daughter-in-law, Pamela Henshaw, along with his seven cherished grandchildren—Kayla, John, Tyler, Austin, Samantha, Trsystan, and Izzabella—were central to his life and bring comfort in their memories of his love and guidance.
Thomas is also survived by his sister Janet Marchinko of Port Hardy, BC, and brother Ivor (Jim) Beckley of Grand Prairie, AB. He was a beloved uncle to nieces Tanya, Jen, Abbie, and Kristin, and nephews Joe, George, Ken (KJ), and Adam, as well as many great nieces and nephews. These family ties were an integral part of his life, and his warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Ken Beckley, his sister Holly Beckley, and his daughter and son-in-law, Mel and Gary Martin. Their memories remain ever-present in the hearts of those who loved Thomas.
A visitation to honor and remember Tom will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Services, (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2A 0T1) on March 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Tom are invited to gather and pay their respects.
Tom’s life was one marked by dedication, friendship, and love. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
