Soeum Kear

In Loving Memory of Soeum Kear, age 65, of Battambang, Cambodia died Saturday night, Jan 18, 2014 at the foothills Hospital surrounded by his family. Born March 11, 1948 he was the son of the late Kruoch Kear and Lim Thuch. Soeum was a dedicated educator in his home country and came to Canada to give his children a better future. He was strongly committed to ensuring his family strived and his community was vibrant. He enjoyed politics and helping out his Cambodian Association members in his spare time. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cheng-Kim Kear; along with four children; Mardi Kear, Vibol Kear, Kenora Kear and Mary Louk; 5 grandchildren, Ford Wong, Liam Wong, Zach Wong, Veronica Nghi and a new addition in June of 2014. He also leaves behind many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Visitations and prayers for Soeum Kear will be held on Jan 27 from 5pm-8pm and Jan 28 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Jan 29, 2014 with the Cambodian monks at Pierson’s Funeral Home located at 4121 -17 Ave SE. Burial will follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery located on 243208 Garden Rd in Rockyview County, AB at 1pm on January 29, 2014.
