Sandra Gae Ellen Gedlaman

January 11, 1943 — March 5, 2022

Sandra Gedlaman passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Sandra will be dearly missed by her husband Wayne Gedlaman; their five children Micheal Gedlaman (Serena), Kelly Gedlaman (Sarah Fincher), Derek Gedlaman, Troy Gedlaman (Cindi) and Lorie Garry (Jonathan); and 16 grandchildren: Tyler, Paige (N. Kelly), Julia, Willow, Kai, Mason (Lexi), Matthew, Hannah, Grace, Denham, Caden, Tate, Kingston, Fynn, Bryar and Neve; and several grand-dogs. Sandra is also survived by her sister Sheila Rhodes and many other relatives and friends.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents Frederick & Hanna Puzey; a brother David Puzey and sister DaVeeda West.

Sandra was born in Carmangay, Alberta and raised in Champion. After High School, she attended the U of C where she earned a teaching certificate and taught with the Calgary Board of Education. It was while she was at the U of C that she met the love of her life Wayne, and they were married in 1964. Raising a family was job number one for Sandra. She dedicated her time to nurturing and teaching her children and making life interesting and special for them. She made them clothes, cooked wonderful meals and took on all the tasks of a dedicated homemaker. She also engaged and served in the community where she and her children lived. As the children grew, she returned to work in the school system in the role of a cafeteria cook, a job she embraced. Sandra was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of callings. Through all these years, she wholehearted supported Wayne with his work and church responsibilities. Sandra had an adventurous side never more evident than when she relocated with Wayne and her young family to Guyana in 1972. After Wayne’s retirement, they spent a great deal of time working in Thailand and traveling the world. From interesting and unusual food, to zip-lining, she would embrace anything that might offer her a thrill. Sandra’s love and interest in the world motivated her to enrich the lives of her children and grandchildren. She will be forever remembered for taking time to prepare and teach those in her influence the wonders of her universe. We will miss her enthusiasm for life and her abundant love.
