Russell Anthony Schaan

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Russell Schaan at the Arthur Child Cancer Center in Calgary, AB surrounded by loved ones.

Russell will be greatly missed by his Brothers Randy Schaan, Darrell Schaan, Sister Valerie Bouvier, Special friends Hilda Wetzel and Blake Weis, as well as all of his cousins, nieces and nephews.

Russell was predeceased by his Mom, Irene Knapp, Dad, Andy Schaan, brother in law Rodney Bouvier as well as Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Russell will always be remembered for his unmistakable, crazy humour, the kind that could light up a room with belly laughs!

But behind the humour was a man of great depth, kindness and quiet wisdom. He had a remarkable ability as a common sense problem solver. He would lend an ear to anyone. He had a passion for music, always up for joining in on a jam session.

His Nieces and Nephews held a special place in his heart and he in theirs. He took genuine pride in teaching and encouraging them as well as being the person they could confide in.

Russell approached life with a spirit that was uniquely his own. He leaves behind memories full of laughter, love and the quiet strength that defined him. He will be missed with love by so many.
