Ross Myers passed away at home on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years Joan Myers; children, Ken & Ruby Myers, Sandra & Joe Lootens, Brenda & Tim Campagna and Tracy & Trevor Pfeifenroth; grandchildren, Kathy & Hugh Vos, Cheryl & Justin Snell, Natalie & Taylor Leavitt, Whitney Myers, Nicole & Brad Bullock, Natasha & Mike Jackson, Mark Lootens, Rachel Lootens, Megan Lootens, Robert & Diedra Campagna, Kayla Campagna, Krystina Campagna, Katrina Schwartzenberger, Ashley Schwartzenberger, Ryan Pfeifenroth and Cole Pfeifenroth; siblings Leron & Cecilia Myers, Marlene & Russ Petry, Carole & Bob Hennig, Linda & Don Tait and Fred & Marilyn Myers; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Thelma (Alfred) Peacock, father William (Margaret) Myers, infant son Alan Myers and infant brother Marlin Myers. Ross was born and raised in southern Alberta. He joined the army in 1950 and served 21 years including the Korean War. Ross was a lifelong member of both the #54 Korea War Veterans Association and the #275 Forest Lawn Legion. He was also a 50+ year member of AA where he sponsored and helped multiple people over the years. From his childhood, Ross gained a love for horses and Dogs that he carried throughout his life. In his younger years he enjoyed curling and Golfing and in more recent years he loved woodworking and painting. A Visitation will be held for Ross at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel, 4121 17 Avenue SE, on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 6:00 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Stake Centre, 5927 Tipton Road NW, on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
