Ronald Boyd

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, Mr. Ronald Boyd, beloved husband of Mrs. Joy Boyd of Calgary, Alberta passed away with his family by his side at the age of 74 years. Besides his loving wife of 51 years, Ron will be dearly missed by his children, Delaney (Conrad) of McLean, Saskatchewan, and Rhiannon Boyd of Calgary; grandchildren, Veronica Boyd of Calgary, Charlotte Boyd of Calgary, and Freya of McLean, Saskatchewan; sister, Wendy Boyd of Ottawa, Ontario; and his niece, Skyler (Bryan) Cartledge of Brantford, Ontario.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Evelyn Boyd; brothers, Bruce Boyd and Steven Boyd; and his grandson, Wilson.

Ron was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario where he graduated from the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology and became a Civil Engineering Technologist. In 1980, Ron and Joy decided to move to Calgary where Ron then attended DeVry Institute, graduating as a computer programmer.

Ron loved motorcycles, photography, baking, carpentry and cruise traveling. More recently, Ron had enjoyed ten pin bowling. Ron loved to work and had a life full of diverse occupations; including a disco DJ, photographer, chimney sweep, computer programmer and most rewardingly, a grandfather.

He was a generous, hardworking, honest man who was extremely dedicated to his family. Ron will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.
