Ronald Allan Bateman

Ron Bateman passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the age of 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of two years Bella; children, Vic (Jeanine) Bateman, Stan (Lesley) Bateman, Donald Bateman, Della (Brad) Robinson, Jean Bateman and Charlotte (Suraj) Dave; grandchildren, Bill (Becky), Susie (Shane), Jason (Chasidy), Christy (Bob), Jennifer, Ryan (Sam), Kimberly (Jason), Danni and Nicky; twelve great grandchildren; seven siblings; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Bill & Grace Bateman, wife Vivienne and five siblings. Ron was born in Calgary, AB and raised rural central and southern Alberta. Following his schooling years he attended SAIT to obtain his mechanics ticket. Ron worked for many years as a heavy duty mechanic and as an auto mechanic in Hanna, Delia & Carstiars. Ron then worked as an RV technician in Calgary with his son, Vic. He spent much of his retired years traveling North America with is wife Vivienne. The family would like to make a special thank-you to Ron’s sister Dorothy Bateman for the help and special attention she gave Ron in the past couple of years. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, with tributes at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made in memory of Ronald Bateman, c/o Rockyview Hospital Unit 94 – Internal Med (7007 – 14 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2V 1P9).
