Roger William Haparta

Roger Haparta of Chestermere, AB passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was 66 years of age.

Roger is survived by his sister, Jeanette (Glen) Wozny; nieces, Jolene (Stuart) Veno of Drumheller & Krystal Wozny of Chestermere; great-nephews, Cody (Michelle) Veno, Jordan & Kash Boychuk, great-niece, Lacey Veno; along with extended family and friends. Roger is predeceased by his parents, William & Gretel Haparta.

Roger was born and raised in Calgary and worked at the family business, Haparta Plastering Ltd. Outside of work, he was a big car enthusiast. His hotrods were his pride and joy as he spent all his spare time in his garage. He was always wheeling and dealing! Over the years, he was a member of various car clubs like the Ford F350 Club. He loved cruising in his jacked up dually.

He was called Uncle Roger not only to his nieces but also his great-niece and nephews. Roger was an animal lover owning several dogs who were always his best friends for life.  In that spirit, donations may be made in Roger's name to the Calgary Humane Society.

The Haparta family wish to thank Dr. David Vermaak at Lake Med, Dr. Richard Baverstock at Rockyview Hospital and the wonderful staff at Bethany Riverview for their kind, compassionate care.

As per Roger's wishes, there will be no formal funeral ceremony. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Roger to the Calgary Humane Society (www.calgaryhumane.ca).
