Robert ‘Bob’ Glenn Woolley died shortly after 6 PM, the evening of Monday August 16th at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. Known for his work in the energy sector, the chemical engineer and entrepreneur died at the age of 86.

As a new graduate from the University of British Columbia in chemical engineering, Bob, as he was called by those who knew him, worked at gas plants and oil refineries in British Columbia and Alberta. In the 1980s, he launched his own engineering and project management company, which in turn, took him to remote destinations around the world.

In 1978, Bob was married to Erin née O’Brien. Later they were sealed for time and eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple, the eighth constructed temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is most known for his affection for his nine grandchildren, Miles and Marcus Woolley, Sydney, Olivia, Gracye and Max Dawson, Tristan, Rhianna and Noah Wood.

Bob is survived by his wife, Erin; his two daughters, Roberta Ione Woolley and Rebecca Christina nee Woolley (David Dawson), his two stepsons Sean and Stephen Wood and his brother Dr. (Jack) Woolley. He is predeceased by his son David Woolley, his sister-in-law Dr.Janice Woolley and his brother Stuart Le Page.

The family would like to share their deep appreciation for the love and support expressed by family and friends during this time. The family would also like to offer a special, heart felt thanks to Dr. Bjorn Larsen, Dr. Conradie, the outstanding medical team at Rockyview General Hospital and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre team.

A Memorial Service for Bob will be announced at a later time.
