Reginald Cecil Clowes

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Reginald “Reg” on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the age of 90 years after a brief battle with cancer. Reg is dearly missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marjory and their four sons, Randy (Judi), Ron (April), Brent (Crystal) and Craig. He is also dearly missed and loved by his nine grandchildren (Sharina, Chad, Tyler, Austin, Evan, Braedan, Amaris, Madyson and Cole) along with his six great-grandchildren.

Reg is now in Jesus’ loving arms and is predeceased by his younger brother Dale Clowes.

Reg was born on September 10, 1935 in Hanna, Alberta to Ronald and Violet (nee Maetche) Clowes. He was the eldest of three and much loved by his brother, Dale Clowes and his sister, Muriel Jones.

Reg was resourceful and a hard worker taking on the family business following his father’s passing when he was just 16 years old. He worked for several different companies including Otis Elevator. In 1960 he began working with AGT as a rackman, then a technician and finally a manager until he retired in 1993.

In his spare time he liked to build and fix anything he could get his hands on. He built campers, furniture, toys and finally a new cabin in 1996 at their property in Invermere. That cabin was an oasis and a favoured spot where many family adventures and memories were made. Reg loved boating and water skied up until he was 82!

As a family, we are truly thankful for the tender and compassionate care our father received from the Southwood Care Centre Hospice. Thank you for loving and caring for our dad!

A Celebration of Reg’s life will be held at First Alliance Church, 12345 40th Street SE, Calgary on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
