Phyllis Elsie Armstrong, 81, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta - a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and auntie. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Phyllis lived a life marked by faith, love, and quiet perseverance.

Born on December 8, 1943 in Taber, Alberta Phyllis dedicated her life to nurturing others - whether in the classroom, in her church callings, or in her own home. As a teacher for many years, she left a lasting impact on generations of students. Her warmth, patience, and deep love of learning inspired those around her to grow not just in knowledge, but in character.

Phyllis was sealed for time and all eternity to her beloved husband, Ken Armstrong, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Together they raised a small family which included their sons Kendall and Jason. Family meant everything to Phyllis.

Throughout her life, Phyllis faced many physical ailments and health challenges - but she bore them with quiet dignity, faith, and incredible strength. She rarely complained, choosing instead to focus on the needs of others. Her resilience was a testament to her enduring spirit and her unwavering trust in the Lord.

A faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, Phyllis served in many church callings over the years, including in the Relief Society, and Primary organizations. She had a deep love for the scriptures and often found strength in prayer and service. Her testimony was firm and her kindness was genuine, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Ken Armstrong, her children Kendall Armstrong (Kristi) and Jason Armstrong, her grandchildren Kaedon Armstrong, Siarrah Armstrong, Ryienne Armstrong, and Jackson Rose. She is also survived by her brother Terry Pierson, sister-in-laws Joan, and Sandra Pierson, and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy of love, faith, and perseverance.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Viola Pierson, brothers Glen Pierson, Kenneth Pierson, Wayne Pierson, and sisters Marie Heidinger, and Maxine Pierson, as well as sister-in-law Noreen Pierson, and brother-in-law Derry Heidinger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bow Valley Chapel, located at 2526 - 24 Avenue NW, Calgary, Alberta. A viewing for family will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m to 10:15 am. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Taber, Alberta at Taber Memorial Gardens.

The Armstrong family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from everybody that has reached out.

Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of faith, courage, and compassion. Though her body may have been frail, her spirit was unshakable. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
