Phong Bui

Phong Bui, a loving and dedicated son, nephew, brother, cousin, uncle, boyfriend and fur father to 15 pups, passed away on November 8, 2022, at the young age of 25.
Phong was born in the cold territory of Yellowknife on February 23, 1997 and moved to Calgary as a child where he excelled in school, badminton, and piano. He was even gifted the nickname “P Fingz” from his older siblings who truly believed he could have made it far, showcasing his pianist skills on Instagram- of course he did not listen to their advice. Instead, he loved to draw and create works of art, designing intricate Asian pieces, cartoons, and anything he put his mind to which led him to attending ACAD after high school to further his artistic abilities. At one point, he wanted to bring his art to life and become a tattoo artist, but his true passion was his love for animals, and he aspired to become a veterinarian.
He had a kindred soul and a heart of gold and loved to be silly. No one loved a game of Monopoly, more than he did (or Call of Duty). In fact, if there was a board game in the home, you had to be prepared to play it otherwise he would pout, he really was a big kid at heart. Phong was a jokester too, making fun of people was another favorite past time of his whether it was photoshopping your face on another body, bugging his younger cousins or nieces and nephew, commenting on how hairy you were or how many kids you had.
Phong was preceded in death by his grandmother Xe Thi Lam and leaves behind his loving mother Phung Lam, father Hien Quang Bui, grandfather Duc Tan Lam, uncles Hien, Tai and Thuan Lam, aunt Phung Lam, his siblings Andrew Pham, Mikendra Dini, Tuan Bui, Trina Bui, Dayanna Bui, nieces Serianna Dini and Aysah Pham, nephew Nito Dini, his cousins Destini Lam, Emma Tran, Tyson Lam, Jammie Lam, Vivian Lam, Kevin Lam and Nixon Lam, high school sweetheart Susan Lay and girlfriend Dru Howse.
Words can’t express what you mean to us, even though you’re gone, we’re still a team in our hearts is where we will keep you.
