Phillip Herman Pepin

Phillip Herman Pepin, born on June 21, 1962, in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at the Foothills Medical Centre. Phil’s life was characterized by hard work, a friendly spirit, and a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. 

From the ages of six through eleven, Phil grew up in the foster system. Eventually and happily, he returned to his mother.  

Phillip’s career path was a testament to his hardworking nature. He embarked on his professional journey with a few years on the carnival circuit, embracing the lively and challenging environment with enthusiasm. Eventually, he found his calling in the roofing industry, where he applied his skills and steadfast determination until the end of his working years.

Beyond his career, Phillip’s personal life blossomed beautifully later in his life. In 2010, he met Deborah Lynne Barden, who became his beloved wife. Their bond grew strong over the years, culminating in their marriage in December of 2025. Deborah’s presence brought Phillips much joy in his final years, and their union was a cherished milestone.

Phillip was born into a large family and was one of several siblings. He is survived by his wife Deborah Lynne Barden-Pepin and his siblings: Gary (Jackie) Boudreau of Edmonton; Ron Pepin (Debbie Scrimshaw) of Rider Flats; Darryl (Julie) Pepin of St. Paul; Ross (Renee) Pepin of Edmonton; Aake of the Netherlands; and Larry of Whitecourt. He is preceded in death by his siblings Jim Boudreau, Dennis Pepin, Shirley Pepin, Dave Lawrence, and Dave Benny.

The family will honor Phillip’s memory with a Funeral Service held at Pierson's Funeral Services, located at 4121 17 Avenue SE in Calgary, Alberta. The service will take place on May 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
