Pauline Rita Wowchuk

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Baba and Great Baba, Pauline Rita Wowchuk on March 30, 2019. Pauline passed away peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Born in 1934, Pauline was one of 9 siblings of Hazel and Gunnar Sigurdson and grew up in the Riverton area in Manitoba. She moved with her husband and children and settled in the Calgary area in 1968. Pauline is survived by her children Catherine (Herbstreit), Patricia (Johnson), William and James. Pauline was Baba to 6 grandchildren and Great Baba to 9 great grandchildren. Pauline had a great love of music and played the guitar and accordion. She was never happier than when she was singing and dancing with her grandchildren in the kitchen at the farm. Our whole family will fondly remember her love of home cooking and the smell of fresh bread from the farm kitchen not to mention her wonderful homemade perogies and noodles. She had a need to feed anyone that visited. She was deeply loved by family and friends and will be sadly missed. A family service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers if friends desire, a donation can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada or the Royal Canadian Legion.
