It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paula Lynn Jacques on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Born on August 2, 1951, in Magnetic Hill, New Brunswick, Paula grew up in Nova Scotia before leaving at the age of 19 to begin a new chapter of her life in Ontario. She later moved to Calgary, Alberta, where she made her home for more than 50 years and built a life filled with family, friendships, and cherished memories.
Paula was an insightful photographer who loved capturing images of forgotten buildings and places, revealing the beauty found in things that were weathered by time. She found peace and happiness in the mountains, exploring hidden trails, tending campfires, and enjoying the quiet escape of a good book.
Paula will be lovingly remembered by her son, Stephen of Ontario; daughters Courtnaye Greenwell of Nanaimo, British Columbia, and Stacey and her husband Matthew Wood of Cochrane, Alberta; grandchildren Deegan, Evangeline, Ezra, and Elizabeth, who brought her great joy; and her sister Wendy and her husband Randy Boudreau.
Paula’s life was defined by her love for her family, her curiosity about the world around her, and the many meaningful connections she made throughout her journey. Paula will be remembered for her unique perspective, gentle spirit, and the lasting impact she had on those who knew and loved her.
In keeping with Paula’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Meow Foundation
Paula will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
