Paul Leon McGillis

October 18, 1941 — May 19, 2025

Airdrie, Alberta

Paul Leon McGillis, affectionally known as Tom Tom, was born Saturday, October 18, 1941 in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan to Rodrique and Victorine McGillis. He resided in the quiet embrace of Willow Bunch until his mid 20's where he headed west to Alberta and British Columbia.   It was here he became a father to four children, Paul then moved to Calgary where he met Dorothy Smith, having his fifth child.  A love that lasted 40 years. Tom Tom was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grand father and great grandfather. He had six grandchildren; Amber, Casey, Christina, Marlee, Thomas "Cowboy" and Marissa "Bunny". He was also a great grandfather to four.

Paul's careers were always hands-on, whether physically or through his community involvement. He began as a iron worker in downtown Calgary, but soon switched his careers and spent over 30 years with the Metis Urban Housing where he retired. Paul spent every waking moment dedicating his precious time to his grandkids and his family. From fishing, hunting,  camping, painting, road trips and many trips to Wendy's or Peter's Drive In, and let's not forget that big bucket of KFC he loved walking into the house with to share over stories of the days events.

Paul is survived by his children, daughter Margo (Mike) and Theresa (Bruce) and his son, Cody (Amy) McGillis. He also survived by his sisters, Dorothy (Doug), Noella (Earl), Gloria and his brother, Larry (Marlene) , and numerous other relatives and friends.

Among those who preceded him in death are his parents Rodrique and Victorine McGillis, Siblings; Marceline, Yvonne, Clarance, Delores and Claudette; his sons, Rodney and Scott.  They will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved them.

Papa's spirit will live on beside each of us and will always be remembered.
They say time is promised to no one and we will cherish the time spent with you always.

At Paul's request there will be no formal service, his cremated remains will travel one more time back home to Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan to rest with his family.
