Oskar Keil

Oskar Keil passed away peacefully on September 4, 2015. He will be greatly missed by his son, Joachim (John) Keil, daughter, Sylvia Arthur, and his four grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Branden, and Nadine.

Born in Kostopol Poland, Oskar was raised between the two great wars. At the age of 17 he was drafted and fought in WWII. Oskar moved his family to Calgary, Canada in 1958. He was a devoted father and a loving husband to his wife, Anni, who passed away in 2012. He worked as a welder and was a life-time member of the Boilermakers Union. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, exploring the great outdoors, and driving. Oskar was fluent in numerous languages and had a special aptitude for adapting machinery and inventing tools.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 10, at Pierson’s Funeral Home (4121 – 17 Ave SE). In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Oskar’s doctors and nurses, especially the staff at Wentworth Manor.
