Oscar Ibita Quierra

Oscar Quierra passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 65 years.  

He was born on October 22, 1958 in Manila, Philippines. He emigrated into Canada and settled in Calgary, Alberta in March of 1995.  He was a hard working man who spent many years working as a custodian for the Calgary Catholic School Board. He was a devout Catholic who loved his family deeply. When he was not working or with family, Oscar would be spending time with friends, watching basketball, eating good food and enjoying live music.

Oscar is survived by his brothers and sisters, Emma Boogerd, Ronald Quierra, Augusto Quierra, and Florida Cabanlit; nieces and nephews, Benjamin, JR, Jemely, all of Calgary, Alberta, as well as Stephen, Shiela, Mary-Grace, Suzeth, Gerald, all of Manila, Philippines; and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Andres Quierra; mother, Marcelina Ibita; brothers, Getulio Quierra and Ernesto Quierra; sister Natividad Quierra.

Oscar will be laid to rest in the Philippines in March 2024.
