Olga Field passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, James Oake, of Caroline, AB, Talie (Wayne) Prokopetz, of Calgary, AB, Christina (Dan) Lausman, of Likely, BC, Janice Desjardins, of Calgary, AB, and Karen (Jay) DeGoesbriand, of Lake Cowichand, BC; six grandchildren, Jessica (Adrian), Tali (Justin), Sarah (Thomas), Holly, Emily (Jimmy), and Calem; three great grandchildren Joshua (Anne), Phoenix, and Finn; two great great grandchildren Luna and Aiden; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her son William Oake, daughter Nancy Oake, granddaughter Jennifer Oake and parents John & Jean Bosak.

Olga was born and raised in Saskatchewan. She met and married her first husband, and together they were blessed with seven children. In 1963, the family moved to Calgary. Over the years, Olga also lived in Lomond, AB, and Lethbridge, AB, before returning to Calgary, which remained her home for the rest of her life.

Throughout her working years, Olga was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She worked part-time at The Bay, then went on to work at a credit union, where she held a supervisory role. She later spent many years as a bookkeeper with Fagnan’s Furnace. Following her retirement, Olga devoted much of her time to volunteering, most notably with Central United Church, where she was deeply involved and generously gave of her time.

Olga was an avid reader who enjoyed puzzles, long walks, and stopping to talk with people along the way. She had a keen interest in history and politics, loved outings, and could often be found happily people-watching. Known for her great sense of humour and quick wit, Olga never missed a chance for a clever comment. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, which was one of her greatest joys.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Aspen Lodge for the excellent care and compassion they provided to Olga. A private family service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Olga to WINS (www.winsyyc.ca).
