Neil Bruce Breckenridge, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, with his family by his side. Born on January 13, 1958, in Mission City, British Columbia, Neil was a vibrant soul whose presence touched the lives of many.
With a career spanning 28 years as a truck driver for Dafoe, Neil was known not only for his work ethic but also for his quirky personality and positive outlook on life. His humor brought joy to those around him, and he had a unique ability to lighten any situation with a well-timed joke or a funny story.
Neil had a passion for music, often found enjoying the timeless sounds of The Beatles and Neil Young, which reflected his artistic spirit and zest for life.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Barb; along with their children, Jean (Erran), Rossella, and Walter. Neil was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Emily, Devon, Nikita, and Jacob, who brought endless joy and pride into his life. He is also survived by many siblings and extended family members who will remember him fondly.
Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Anna, and his sister, Gladys. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who shared in his life.
