Nanette May Iwaskiw, known as "Nan," and more affectionately as "G-ma", passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 74. Born on April 10, 1951, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Nan made a lasting impact in the lives of her family and the community.

Nan led a life rich in love and laughter, often characterized by her sarcastic sense of humor. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially in the cherished moments spent with her family and the adventures they shared. She loved driving the school bus, often bringing her granddaughters along for the ride, creating memories that will stay with them forever. Whether it was cheering on her granddaughters at games or watching them take on wake boarding and tubing, Nan's enthusiasm for life was contagious.

An avid sports enthusiast, Nan spent over 20 years playing fast-pitch baseball, earning her a well-deserved spot in the Sports Hall of Fame in Lethbridge in 1995. She continued her passion for sports by watching various kinds including dancing and hockey. Her love for the outdoors extended to camping, boating, and traveling.

Nan leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Dave Iwaskiw, and her cherished sons, Trevor (Monique Vaudrin) Iwaskiw of Denver, CO, and Kent (Wendy) Iwaskiw of Calgary, Alberta. She was a proud grandmother to Alexis and McKenzie, whose lives were enriched by her unwavering love and support. Nan is also survived by her brothers Pat (Carol) Hamilton, Greg Hamilton, Brent (Bev) Hamilton, her sister Lori (Kelly) Kaminski, and brother, Jerry (Liz) Hamilton as well as nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Gordon Hamilton, and brothers Bill (Verda) Hamilton, Donny (Faye) Hamilton, and Bobby (Deanna) Hamilton.

Nan's legacy of love, humor, and dedication to her family will forever be remembered. She lived her life with passion, inspiring all who knew her to find joy in the small moments and to cherish the bonds of family. And the best way to sum up the life Nan lived is none other than through the words of Frank Sinatra, "I did it my way"

"Thanks for coming" - Nan
