Myrna Elizabeth Lawrence

Myrna Lawrence passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 87 years.
She is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Juliette) Wice, Terry (Cindy) Wice, David Wice (Marie LeBlanc) and Melanie Smith; three grandchildren, Denise McGinnis, Shelby Wice and Joshua Wice; one great-grandchild, Jaxon McGinnis; grand fur babies, Tiny, Mickey and Annie along with numerous extended family and friends. Myrna was pre-deceased by her first husband, Alfred Wice; second husband, David Lawrence; daughter, Bonnie Wice; son, Alan Wice and numerous brothers and sisters.
Myrna Elizabeth Lawrence grew up in Brightsand, Saskatchewan, a small farming village. She was young, smart, curious, and had all determination for life. Her brother Doug worked in the oil field back in the 50’s where he met and became friends with Gene Wice who meet and later married Myrna. Gene and Myrna traveled throughout the country by trailer following the oil patch for work. They raised three children, Bonnie, Alan and Kenneth. After many years of traveling around in the trailer, they settled down and bought a house in Fairview, Calgary, AB. Ten years later in the 60’s Myrna and Gene had three more children Terry, David & Melanie.
A Funeral Service will be held for Myrna at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10:00 am. Then following the service, Myrna will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery with her son, Alan. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the service is limited to 20 people in attendance.
