“Your wings were ready, but my heart was not”
Elsie Millar passed away peacefully on May 31, 2022 at the age of 76 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Millar; and her brothers, Howard and Gordon. She is survived by her children, Sheri Nesbitt (Robin) of Holdfast SK, Lisa Viljevac (Greg) of Calgary; step-son, Kenny (Aileen) Capoge; grandchildren, Sarah Nesbitt, Shayla and Jack Rattigan, Nina and Aria Viljevac. She will be missed by others including her many nieces.
Elsie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Elmer and Ruby Shouldice. She left Moose Jaw with her friends Virginia and Ginger in the spring of 1967 and moved to Calgary. She was the first of her friends to gain employment, which was celebrated with a case of beer and a taxi ride around the city. She met Kenneth Millar in Calgary and they were married in 1984. She had a great sense of humour and could light up a room with her glowing personality. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Elsie’s friends, Barb Dickieson and Trudy Karp. Barb spent everyday with Elsie while she was at Chinook hospice. Barb and Trudy were both with Elsie in her final moments.
The family would also like to thank the Chinook hospice for their care and compassion.
A service will be held for Elsie at a later date.
