Michael Scott Bland

Mike Bland passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the age of 51 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years Dale; brothers Rob (Marianne) Bland and Jon Bland; close friends Scott (Loretta) Watson; Brad (Sheila) Waldron, Fayiaz (Zahra) Sunderji and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Robert Bland. Mike was born in Lethbridge, AB and raised all over the prairies; following his father’s teaching career. Mike finally settled in Calgary and started his own adventures. He first started working in the autobody industry but then became a plumber/gas fitter where he worked hard and enjoyed the challenges of the job. Mike loved listening to and playing music, especially rock. He also loved cars, and would always be working on them. Mike was also very social and loved to make people laugh; along with his helping heart he was hard not to love. A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at the Millican-Ogden Community Association (6901 20A Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Mike to the Lander Treatment Centre, through the Claresholm & District Health Foundation (www.cdhealth.ca).
