Maryjane Beaver

August 27, 1940 — July 18, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch of our Beaver and Hunter family, MaryJane Beaver has made her journey back to the creator on Tuesday July 18, 2023, at the age of 82 years. She was born in rural Cochrane, Alberta on August 27, 1940, mainly raised in Mini Thni most of her life and was proud of her traditional upbringing by her parents, Nat and Gertrude Hunter. Ena was very devoted to making traditional teepee’s, tents, dry meat and her favorite hobby was bead work with her only sister the late Helen Hunter Beaver. They both carried on with traditional values and lifestyles. It was very important to her to pass these most precious gifts to her children and grandchildren. Ena had great horsemanship in her younger years, she would tame any kind of horses and always having relay races with her siblings. Ena lived a tremendous life, she had a great sense of humor, she was kind, humble, gentle, compassionate and respected and always willing to help anyone. Ena would always tease her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, and also she gave nick names to everyone in her family.

MaryJane is survived by her loving sons for 58 years, Floyd (Michelle), Wyatt (Bernadine) Jarrett, Myers (Pamela); granddaughters, Tyra (Travis), Vairlynn, (Lyndon) Jarrelene, Trisha (Nathan), Colene, Tori (James), Dreyanna, Tashanna, Jewels Karalene; grandson, Kirby (Amy), Sylvester, Chad (Cecillia), Tristen, Calvert; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her favorite pet, Pickles. MaryJane is also survived by her only brother Felix Hunter Beaver; brother-in-law Charlie Rabbit; sister-in-law Violet Beaver; also numerous extended nieces, nephews and families from Maskwacis, Saddle Lake, Rocky Boy Montana. Ena was predeceased by her grandparents John and Leah Hunter; parents Nat and Gertrude Hunter Beaver; her husband of 53 years Dallen Beaver; her only daughter Tyssa Beaver; son Harold; brothers Nat Jr., Gordon, John Dee; sister Helen Hunter Beaver; Francis Hunter Beaver’s grandchildren: Toni Holloway, Wyatt Jr Beaver and extended family members. The Family apologizes if they have missed anyone.

Thanks to the care team on Unit A of ICU and the staff at the McCaig Tower Hospital, and home care nurses from Morley Health Center.

Wake services will be held at late Dallen and  MaryJane Beaver’s residence on Sunday, July 23, 2023 and Monday, July 24, 2023. A Funeral Service will be at Bearspaw Youth Center on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place following the service at the Bearspaw Cemetery. Following the grave services, relatives and friends are invited to a traditional feast at the Bearspaw Youth Center.
