Mary Polski passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the age of 86 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years Nick; children Joseph (Jo-Anne), Stanley (Sharon), Roman (Bonnie), Michael (Dianne), Ramona (Steve), Rosemarie and Russell (Cathy); thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; siblings Doris (Bill) and Wally (Jeanny); and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roman & Annie Filewych, sister Katherine and grandson Jeff. Mary was born and raised on the family farm in Spedden, AB. While working with her aunt and uncle in Coleman, AB she met and married the love of her life Nick. After starting their family in Coleman, the family first went back to Mary’s family farm in Spedden while Nick worked in Edmonton and then eventually joined Nick in Edmonton. After a number of years in Edmonton the family then moved to Calgary where they have lived ever since. Mary loved knitting, sewing and baking, but her greatest love was her family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in Unit 72 of the Rockyview Hospital for the excellent care they gave our mom. A Funeral Service will be held for Mary at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
