Martiniano Borges Meneses

Martiniano Meneses passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his wife Norma Meneses (nee Flamand); a son Roger Meneses (Anita) of Calgary; two daughters Ana Paula Mullen and Melanie Virtue (Colin), all of Calgary; 12 grandchildren; Step-sons Jody Marchuk (Wendy) and Cory Marchuk (Holly); and two step-grandchildren Theo & Aspen. Martiniano is also survived by his brother Emiliano Meneses and a large extended family and many friends.

Martiniano was born and raised in Terceira, Azores, Portugal. In 1973 he brought his family to Canada, settling in Calgary. He worked for various paving companies, completing his career with the City of Calgary. Martiniano was a fun-loving man who loved to clown around, tell jokes and generally have fun. He was skilled at building things. He loved riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing and building things. He will be dearly missed.

A memorial mass in his honour will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4747 - 30 Street SE on Friday, July 24 at 11:00 am. Cremation at Foothills Crematorium.
