Marion Elizabeth Schweitzer

Marion Elizabeth Schweitzer passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 81 years.

On Aug 5, 1944, a spitfire named Marion was born in Walkerton, Ontario to parents Jim & Marie Brindley. Being the oldest of 9 children, it was Marion's job to look after her younger siblings. Her duties included cooking, cleaning, laundry, and many other tasks. In 1962 Marion married Donald Schweitzer and bore 2 children, Clara and Joseph. Marion moved out to Alberta in 1975 and met Don Dadson in the early 80's and started dating in 1985.

Marion was a dedicated hard worker. She worked as a forklift operator at Livingstons/General Mills for 33 years and retired at the age of 65. Don Dadson was a long-haul truck driver and when schedules permitted, she liked to join him on the road for many adventures and amazing memories across North America. Marion was part of a Dart League and enjoyed playing Darts with her spouse Don Dadson.

Her most favorite past time was Bingo, if she wasn't at home, you knew you could find her at one of the many Bingo Halls around the city. I am sure you could hear her yell BINGO! from down the street, especially when she won the cruise trip, in which Don will attest to spending just as much on alcohol as the trip was worth. There are many fond memories of Marion by many people, one particular memory that remains vivid for Joey of his mom is when he asked his mom for money, she handed him her wallet and said,"If you could find some, it's yours". Joey ended up finding a folded up $50 bill. Marion said with a clenched shaking fist "get out of my effing face" to which Joey replied, "thanks mom, this is free money". Daughter Clara's favorite memory of her mom is when they both went to see Patsy Cline, one of Marion's favorite artists.

The love that was shared between Don & Marion was a timeless and genuine love that knew no bounds. They were the epitome of the perfect pair, complimenting each other at every turn. When it comes down to it, anyone who knew Marion on a personal level knew she had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back. She was selfless, kind, and caring and had many other amazing qualities. If you ever got the opportunity to meet and get to know her, consider yourself lucky as she was one of a kind and there was no one else like her. She will be missed and forever live in our hearts.

Along with her loving spouse of 42 years, Donald F. Dadson, Marion will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jospeh (Judy) Schweitzer of Oliver, British Columbia, Donald Jr. (Sue) Dadson of Union, Ontario, Jimmy Dadson (Deanna Hindley) of Union, Ontario, Christine Dadson of London, Ontario, John (Bonnie) Dadson of Glen Myer, Ontario; Dee Dee (Phil) Fehr of Red Deer, Alberta; Gina (Jason) Gross of Hanna, Alberta; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Diane) Brindley of Aylmer, Ontario, Margaret (Jim) Horvath of Tillsonburg, Ontario, Doris Brindley of Tillsonburg, Ontario, Gordon Bridley of Eden, Ontario, Butch Brindley of Tillsonburg, Ontario, Fran Brindley-Roush (Roy Roush) of Woodstock, Ontario; brother-in-law, Arnold Robbins of ADD IN PLACE and sister-in-law, Pat Melanyke of ADD IN PLACE.

She was predeceased by her parents, James & Marie Brindley; spouse, Donald Schweitzer; siblings, William Brindley, Audrey Robbins, Rose Brindley; Sister-in-law, Monica Brindley, Grandson, Ryan Kolmaier Schweitzer.
