Marie Alexson of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the age of 69 years.
Marie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Julia Alexson, Michael William Mallich (Kristine Geng), all of Calgary; granddaughter, Kaylee Geng; brother, Alex Korecky of Calgary; nieces, Helen Alexson, Nina Collier (Jason Collier), all of Calgary; and nephews, David Alexson, Sasha Korecky both of Calgary. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years at the time of his passing, William Melvin Mallich; her parents, Marie and Jiri Korecky; and sister-in-law, Nelly Alexson.
Marie was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia. In 1969, she immigrated to Canada and settled in Calgary. Marie attended Bow Valley College in the Nursing Program. Upon graduation, she worked as a Home Care Nurse. Marie loved music and dogs – all sorts of dogs. She treated them like people so the dogs loved her back. Marie will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Pierson’s Funeral Chapel, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Cremation has taken place at Foothills Crematorium.
