Maria Orio Pigao

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Pigao, who left us peacefully on July 23, 2026, in her 100th year at Carewest – George Boyack care home.

Maria was born in Aparri, Cagayan, Philippines on October 16, 1926. She lived a long and meaningful life rooted in devotion to family, generosity of spirit, and strength. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Apolinaria Orio Domingo and by her many nephews and nieces, all of whom were touched by her warmth and care.

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband Alberto Fronda Pigao; her parents Crisanto and Saturnina Orio; her sisters Claudia Orio Chua (Nemesio) and Natividad Orio Vebr (Jaroslav); her brothers Bernardo Orio (Teresa), Pedro Orio (Juana), and Ignacio Orio Sr. (Pureza); and her brother‑in‑law Regino Fronda Domingo.

Maria found joy in caring for the many children in her family and community. She delighted in cooking, dressmaking, fishing, dancing, and travelling, activities through which she shared her creativity, energy, and love. Her fierce presence and generous heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all.
