Maria Miguez

Maria Miguez passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 96 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Luisa Taylor, Leonardo Miguez (Margaret) and Greg Miguez; grandchildren Gene Taylor (Lynda), Anita Taylor (Gord), Brendon Taylor, Blake Miguez (Jennifer), Linda Miguez, Teresa Miguez (Jose), Lisa Miguez (Teresa), Greg Miguez Jr and Melissa Miguez ; several great grandchildren; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leonardo Miguez Montero, parents Virginia Alonso and Jose Montes, and siblings Argie Montes and Obdulia Montes.

Maria was born and raised in Galicia Spain. She met and married the love of her life Leonardo and they were blessed with three children. After establishing a home in Canada, Leonardo sent for Maria and the children to come and settle in Calgary. After retiring, they spent 10 years back in Spain and after Leonardo passed, Maria would split her time between Calgary and Spain. Maria loved her family and enjoyed needlework, crocheting, cross stitch, painting, and loved camping and fishing.

A Service will be held for Maria at a later date in Spain. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Maria to a charity of your choice.
