Margaret “Peggy” Marie Graham

September 8, 1948 — January 31, 2021

Margaret Graham passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Harold Graham; her daughter, Shawna Graham (Colin May) of Calgary; son, Darcy Graham (Kerry Clark) of Calgary; precious grandchildren, Dominic Graham and Sophie May and her beloved sister, Irene Kelly (Dennis Ewasienko) along with numerous extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Fulton; mother, Ola May Fulton and sister Kendra Monk.

Peggy was born and raised on a farm in Upper Stewiacke, Col. Co. Nova Scotia. Growing up, Peggy and her sisters spent much of their time swimming in the river and following their mother around being the examples at her swimming lessons which gained them the name of the “River Rats.” Peggy loved to dance and going to all the town hall dances. One evening at the dance hall in Upper Stewiack, Peggy would meet the love of her life, John and from that night on they were madly in love. They were married April 1, 1967 and packed up their life back home and moved to Southern Alberta. They first landed in Warner, Alberta but within a couple of months ended up calling Calgary home. Peggy and John saved up enough money to buy a house and started a family. Peggy worked for Sears Canada and had 25 wonderful years with the company. Over the years Peggy enjoyed many activities such as camping, bowling, dancing, theater, reading and watching crime Tv shows. She also loved to travel and had many wonderful vacations with family which included cruises to the Caribbean and Mexico and snowbirding to Arizona with John. Above all, Peggy loved her family more than anything. Family gatherings such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and family barbecues were very special to her and creating forever memories with the family. She also loved and cherished her grandchildren who meant the world to her. Peggy was a very loving and kind person, laid back and did not care for all the material things of this world and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will miss you.

If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/)
