Margaret Sarah Lawrie

With sadness we announce that Margaret Sarah Lawrie passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 97 years.

Margaret was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by adventure, activity, friendship, and a genuine zest for living.

Raised in Scotland, Margaret moved to Canada in 1951 and made Montreal her home. There, she began her career with Trizec, a company that would remain an important part of her professional life. When Trizec relocated her to Calgary, Margaret embraced the opportunity and continued her work there until her retirement in 1992.

Margaret believed in keeping active and making the most of every day. She was an avid traveler, exploring new places and enjoying the experiences that came with seeing the world. At home, she enjoyed tennis, golf, gardening, and long walks—activities that reflected her energetic spirit and love of the outdoors.

One of Margaret's enduring passions was Scrabble. It was more than a pastime for her; it was a lifelong source of enjoyment and connection.

Margaret is survived by nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, and Scotland. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by numerous friends and family around the world.
