Louis Cimino passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Rose (Ron) Motteram and Flavia (Mike) Vanderberg; six grandchildren, Jena (Teo), Mariah (Lucas), Mckenzie (Tom), Quinn (Chloe), Marissa and Alexis; two great grandchildren Ella, & Nora; one brother; two sisters; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Antonia, great granddaughter Sophia Pacentrilli, parents Dominic & Rosa, 3 brothers, and one sister.
Louis was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada when he was 12 years old, eventually making Calgary their home. After finishing school and becoming a barber, a family friend showed him a picture of Antonia, in Italy. He started writing letters to her which led to her moving to Canada and shortly thereafter they were married. They were blessed with their two daughters, Rose and Flavia. After a few years of owning his own barber shop, and a short time with Woodwards, he began working with Calgary Transit where he spent the next 21 years. In his spare time, Louis enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and making his own wine. His greatest passion, however, was his family, and the time they enjoyed together.
He will be lovingly remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Louis's family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers from Paramed and the staff of Evanston Summit for the exceptional care they showed him. A Funeral Service will be held for Louis at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 am.
