Lorna Dianne Cann (Nee Barrows)

October 8, 1949 — February 3, 2020

Lorna passed away with her family by her side on Monday, February 3, 2020 in Dulcina Hospice Calgary, at the age of 70 years. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, David; children Tammy (Corrie) Cann, Debbie (David) Rogers, Russell Cann; grandchildren Antoni Lowe (Crystal), Elishia Green (Robert), Kristie Green, Jeffrey Cann, Kelsey Rogers, Alice Rogers, Tegan Cann; great grandchildren Alex, David, Riley, Corban, Jacob, Angelina, Tyler, Elizabeth, Ariabella, and Xander. Lorna was predeceased by her parents Norman & Freda Barrows, brother Lionel Barrows, and sisters Margaret Lee and Valerie Hoogenboom.

Lorna was born in Calgary, AB and later moved to Airdrie, Sharp Hills, and eventually to Gull Lake to retire. They returned south, ending up in Crossfield, AB to be closer to her family. Lorna worked as an entrepreneur, and as a Certified General Accountant for small businesses in the Calgary area.

Lorna touched the hearts of many and made her mark in this world. She loved her family and dedicated her life to taking care of everyone she came into contact with. Lorna loved taking each and every child, grandchild, even great grandchildren out for their birthday. Lorna was a Snowy Owl when her daughters were in brownies with the Girl Guides of Canada. She had a love for gardening, sewing, travelling, her pets, crafting, reading and other various activies. Lorna was always an ear when you needed one, a voice when it needed to be said, and open arms to hug, hold and heal you. She was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by so many. Heaven gained an angel, may she rest in peace.

Memorial Services will be held for Lorna at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Lorna’s wish was donations be made to Tales to Tell Animal Rescue Shelter in Crossfield, AB (tailstotell.ca/slider-2/donate/).
