Lisa Marie Stewart

Lisa Stewart passed away at Calgary South Health Campus on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the age of 62 years. 

Lisa will be warmly and lovingly remembered by her mother, Delia; brother, Cam and his wife Marina Stewart of Calgary; nieces and nephews, Jessica Stewart, Connie (Farooq) Haider, Jason (Marcella) Smith, Tim (Leah) Stewart, & Noel (Karen) Stewart; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Izabel Stewart, Valentina Stewart, Sofia Haider, Maria Jose Orjuela, Kingston Smith, Anthony Smith, Adam Haider, Maxwell Thorne & Nicholas Thorne; stepmother, Anne Clarke-Stewart; along with many friends. Lisa is predeceased by her father, Hugh Stewart; and stepfather, Murray Barnard, as well as her long-term partner Edward Wright. 

Lisa was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Kitchener. She went to Grand River Collegiate for high school, then after moving to Calgary when she was 18 took upgrading courses at the Mustard Seed and St. Mary's University. Lisa had many jobs and worked at several places including Checker Cabs, the Saddledome, Shopper's Drug Mart and Elements Mental Health Centre. 

Lisa's warm and giving personality shone through in everything she did. Her sensitivity and compassion were felt by those around her, making her a cherished friend and family member. Children held a special place in her heart. She also valued her family and friends; their presence in her life brought her joy and fulfillment. She liked to stay connected through Facebook, ensuring that distance never affected the bonds she held dear.

In her leisure time, Lisa enjoyed solving puzzles and playing games that challenged her mind. Her passion for music trivia made her a guru in the subject, impressing those she spent time with.

Lisa Marie Stewart leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family members and friends. May she rest in peace knowing that her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Celebration of Lisa's Life will take place at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
