Laura Lee Lynn Woiken (nee Dods)

Sadly, we announce the passing of Laura (Lolly) on May 15, 2025 who quietly slipped away in her sleep.

Laura will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dallas (Jackie) Woiken; nephew, Zarek Weaselhead-Dods; sisters, Vicki Sutherland (Ryan and Curtis) and their families, Kim Walker (Tamara, Shannan, Danielle) and their families, Cathy Dods (Dion, Diana, Melissa) and their families, brothers, Trevor Dods (Tjay) and family, Brian Dods(Brandy) and family and Cam (Susan) McKillican. She is predeceased by her mother, Pat Dods, stepfather, Neil Dods; ex-husband, Delmar Woiken; brother, Dan McKillican; father, Daniel McKillican; and in-laws Karl & Mary Woiken.

Laura was born in Calgary at the Calgary General Hospital. She attended Ogden Elementary, Sherwood, and Western Canada. She worked for several years as a payroll and human resources clerk, and then as an administrative assistant. She also volunteered as a treasurer with community associations.

Laura was dedicated to raising her nephew, Zarek who kept her busy and full of life. She loved to travel. She once took a big road trip across Canada, posting pictures along the way. Another favorite was a Ship Cruise trip, saying it was the best ever. Laura loved music and dancing, enjoying getting together with many friends. She was always there to give hugs and comfort.

Laura will be missed by so many. Her kind and generous heart will be carried on by hugs of care and comfort, lingering in our memories.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Laura's life will take place at Vicki's residence (1522 - 34 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday June 21, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Children's Hospital.
